As you guys know, I’ve started working at a private child care and development center. I will confess that up until this point I’ve never worked 40 hours in one week in my life. Go ahead and gasp and lose a little more respect for me. But I’ve worked in places where I was considered part-time and I was really working doing concert and portrait shoots to where I couldn’t work 40 hours at one place. BUT I am now a 40 hour a week employee with benefits, 401k, sick and VACATION time. I know I’ve only been working about a month but I’m ready to use that vacation time option! I’m thinking somewhere exotic like Tahiti, Prague, or New Braunfels… HAHA. But I can say that I have worked 40 hours a week and have felt the aftershocks. I am a full-time employee who likes to have dinner by 7pm and be ready for bed with lights out by 10:30pm. I know it’s a rough life but I’m up to the task! One of these days I’m going to have an entire post dedicated to a certain boy that is in my class. He’s 3 years old but has the mindset of a 40-year-old. To give you a glimpse of his behavior, today he made an airplane out of bristle block (kind of like lego’s) and his airplane fell apart and he loudly said to himself. “Oh, Christ”. That’s my boy! :).
I have a BUSY weekend coming up but I’m extremely excited! Today I’m working my 8 hour shift and then heading over to baby-sit for one of my favorite families in the world! Then Saturday we are having a family splash day at work, so I’m lending my services for an hour.. not really lending it’s more of a mandatory thing. So I’ll be working 41 hours this week! HA. After that I’ll be going to dinner with a great friend and not sure what we’ll get into after that and then on Sunday I am photographing a friends wedding!
I will update more about why I’ve been MIA at a later date, but for now I want to leave you with a photo I took recently of my friend Stephanie’s son, Luke who played in a splash fountain after our shoot wrapped up. As of Tuesday, Luke is a big brother to his brand new sister, Logan! Congrats to the entire family! Everyone have a great weekend and I’ll post more photos soon!
love it. live it. capture it.
