“Live.Laugh.Breathe”

On May 19th, I got to be apart of a benefit for an inspirational, strong, sweet, girl who has battled cystic fibrosis since she was six weeks old. Back in October she underwent a double lung transplant and as you can imagine, medical bills/costs were through the roof. During the time of her surgery Randy Rogers Band actually put on a benefit concert on her behalf and I was there that night and this was when I was first exposed to Amberlyn’s story. Immediately after the concert, I called my mom and we talked for over an hour about Amberlyn and her story and her family’s battle to get Amberlyn in a comfortable place. Since then mom and I have kept up to date with her journal entries and also with the great website, Facebook, we have been able to see updates throughout the week on her progress. Through email and Facebook, I’ve gotten to know Amberlyn’s mom, Debbie, and I have to say that she is truly an inspiration. She is quite the trooper trying anything in her power to make her daughter comfortable. I was more than honored that Debbie asked if I could come and take pictures of an upcoming benefit concert for Amberlyn. I would personally like to thank the wonderful family of Amberlyn for letting me come and be apart of her benefit. I also urge my followers to please take some time and read about her journey. Brandon Rhyder, Bill Rice, Walt Wilkins, and Rich O’Toole performed at the concert while there was a silent auction going on during the event. Below are a few photos from the concert, oh I forgot to mention, Hills Cafe was where the benefit took place! You guys have to go there and eat their yummy onion rings!
