Music Monday vol 5!

I’ll start this blog off by apologizing for neglecting you guys for the past couple of weeks, with all the craziness of the holidays I haven’t been able to blog as much as I’d like! However this next week it will change and I’ll get back to my normal blogging of a few times a week! Let’s get into the blog subject… more Music Monday!! This week I’m going to showcase some of my favorite bands and most of you guys will already have heard of them but I want to let you guys in on some of my inspirations and maybe you’ll get to know me and my preferences a bit more!

* Weezer- Every song they put out is catchy and you know the entire song after hearing it two times. I love their happy riffs and goofy attitudes. I got to see them in LA at the Forum with my friend Chelsea and it was pretty awesome! They really kept the crowd entertained and they played songs from all of their albums. I don’t know if I could pick just one song, but a few of my favorite are: “Hash Pipe”, “Say it Ain’t So”, “Island in the Sun”, “Trouble Maker”. They just put out a new album, Raditude and it’s pretty RAD!

* Audioslave- They aren’t together anymore, but I love love LURVE me some Audioslave! The band consisted of Chris Cornell, the front man from Soundgarden, and then the rest of the band was from Rage Against the Machine. So when you add Soundgarden and Rage that’s a recipe for perfection! I never got to see them live and I often am disappointed in my non effort to go see these guys. They put out three really amazing records, with Chris’ high octave voice and Tom Morelo’s sick riffs every song on every album was amazeballs! The good news is Rage got back together after the break up and played some dates. This past week per Chris Cornell’s twitter, he announced Soundgarden has gotten back together after 12 years of being apart. Talk about amazing news for Twenty Ten! YAY YAY! I was jumping for joy when I heard the news!

* Breaking Benjamin. This band has been around for a few years and I feel like they are under appreciated. They have a few top ten hits but I believe they are far better than how they are portrayed in the music world.  Their song, “So Cold”, off their second album is one of my favorite songs ever. They have also had success with their songs, “Diary of Jane” and “Breath”. I hope to not only see them live one day but would love the opportunity to photograph them!

This was a short post this week but I promise more blogs will be happening this week! Hope everyone had a great holiday! Because a post isn’t a post without some photographia, here are a few shots from a NYE concert I shot in Austin! More photos and a full blog will be up soon with all the details!
